Nick Majendie — Director, Senior Portfolio Manager

Nick was born in England and educated at Winchester College and Oxford University where he received his MA. He came to Canada in 1964, became a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1967 and in 1969 entered the investment business as a research analyst. He was the first in Canada to write a regular portfolio strategy in 1973 and over the years he has been rated as one of Canada's top strategists. Nick has been managing portfolios for 23 years. Known for his ability to predict Canadian markets, Nick has successfully delivered solid returns in bull and bear markets. He is a frequent business commentator in national newspapers and on TV.

Highlights of Nick's career include forming his own investment firm, Majendie Securities, in 1984 and building the company to 120 employees before selling his interest in 1998. Prior to this, Nick was partner, in charge of institutional sales with FH Deacon Hodgson (1978-1984) and Director of Research at Crang and Ostiguy in Montreal. Together with his wife Janet, Nick has built a clientele of Private Clients to whom they offer discretionary management.

Janet Majendie — Associate Director, Senior Wealth Advisor

Originally from England, Janet attained her M.Sc. from the University of London (UK)
and worked in the field of Speech – Language Pathology for 15 years, chiefly in Canada.

In 1998 Janet, with Investment Advisor’s license in hand, joined her husband, Nick Majendie, in the investment business where, together, they developed a group of Private Clients utilizing Nick’s discretionary managed accounts. Janet has excelled in developing successful client service programs and building lasting client relationships With the formation of Majendie Wealth Management in 2009, Janet continues to help design client service programs and construct appropriate investment solutions for clients.

Janet is a volunteer at her daughter’s independent school where, most recently, she was entrusted with the roles of Chair of the New Parent Dinner Committee and Chair of the 2008-2009 Annual Fund and is currently on the School's Board of Governors.

Jane Fung — Senior Associate

Jane was born in Hong Kong and raised in Victoria, British Columbia.  After graduating from the University of British Columbia, she began her career in the financial services industry.  With over 10 years of financial experience, Jane has recently joined Majendie Wealth Management.   She provides an enhanced level of service, handling all of the administrative matters, ensuring that the highest standards of client service are always maintained.   

Jane has her securities license and she has completed several industry courses including the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook, Derivatives Fundamentals Course, Options Licensing Course, and the Professional Financial Planners course.

Outside of work, Jane enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and playing piano.

Daniel Butchart — Administrative Associate

Native Vancouver resident Daniel has been with ScotiaMcLeod for the past 4 years. Originally going to school for employment law, Daniel made the jump into the financial services. Fully Securities & Insurance licensed, Daniel has added value to the Majendie Wealth Management team by handling all trade execution and related activities, providing assistance with company research and computer modeling of the Majendie Wealth Management Portfolios. Strong expertise in general computer programming and development has contribute significantly to enhancing these activities at  Majendie Wealth Management

Currently Daniel is working towards receiving his CIM (Canadian Investment Manager) Designation.

When not at work Daniel enjoys spending his time hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter months.
